As a Azure Data Engineer you will join our Data Analytics & IA service line, where we are supporting organizations in every step to become data-driven. We are looking for an experienced and talented Azure Data Engineer who specializes in developing and optimizing data pipelines and solutions in Microsoft Azure Synapse. As a Cloud Data Engineer at CBTW, you will play a key role in designing and implementing state-of-the-art data architectures to provide our customers with efficient and scalable analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

What is your role? 

You will be part of a journey where you will have two impacts: a client impact and an internal impact. For the internal impact, based on your skills and time, you will be joining our internal Data community at CBTW, to share knowledge and best practices. For the client impact, tasks can vary depending on the client and the project, you will mainly:

  • Design, development and implementation of data pipelines in Microsoft Azure Synapse to extract, transform and load data from various sources (ETL processes)
  • Design and implementation of data models and structures to meet performance, scalability and data integrity requirements
  • Optimizing database queries to maximize query performance and minimize execution time
  • Performing data cleansing, transformation and integration to ensure data quality and consistency
  • Establish monitoring and security mechanisms to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop appropriate data solutions
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies and best practices in data engineering and Azure Synapse to develop innovative solutions

Qualifications

What is your profile?

As a Positive Thinker you have...

  • A degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven professional experience of at least 3 years in data engineering, ideally with a focus on Microsoft Azure Synapse or Azure Data Factory
  • Expertise in the development of ETL processes, data modeling and optimization
  • Very good knowledge of SQL and experience with relational database design
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark or similar frameworks
  • Good programming skills, preferably in Python or Scala
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, and their services in the area of data analysis and processing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in an understandable way
  • Team orientation and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluency in Dutch and/or French and English
