As an Industrial Data Engineer, you will join our Smart Industrial Solutions service line, where we are integrating smart automation and process engineering, we drive manufacturing excellence, leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance performance, reduce costs, and ensure eco-friendly operations. 

Responsibilities

What is your role? 

Consulting: You will be part of a journey where you will have two impacts: a client impact and an internal impact. For the internal impact, based on your skills and time, you will be joining our internal  Digital Core Team at CBTW, to share knowledge and best practices. For the client impact, tasks can vary depending on the client and the project, but as an Industrial Data Engineer, you will mainly: 

  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for collecting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of manufacturing data from various sources, including sensors, IoT devices, and PLCs.
  • Implement and manage Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions to monitor and optimize manufacturing processes in real time.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning techniques.
  • Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders, enhancing decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including automation engineers, to integrate data-driven solutions into manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations, implementing best practices for data governance.
  • Support predictive maintenance initiatives by developing models to forecast equipment failures and optimize maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

What is your profile?

You: 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have a first experience in data engineering within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.
  • Have strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and SQL, with experience in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Have knowledge of industrial automation, IoT, and experience working with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT).
  • Have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, especially in the chemical or process engineering industries, and familiarity with process optimization techniques.
  • Are native in French or Dutch, and proficiency in English.
  • Have strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
